Our story

We build homes the way we build them for ourselves.

We are Luc and Wout de Wit. Brothers, building together for twenty years. We do not believe in building principles because they sound good. We believe in them because we live in them ourselves.

Architect Wout extended his own house with a biobased rooftop addition. He lives and works there every day. In 2022 Luc built a biobased extension to his home. He soon noticed that he preferred being there in every season.

Isn't this just a luxury chalet?

No. An Aventura is a permanent home with its own front door, kitchen and bathroom. In the Comfort and Prestige finishing it meets the Dutch Building Decree. A chalet is made for temporary use and depreciates.

Isn't this too expensive?

Look at what the home costs while you live in it, not only at the purchase. With the low energy demand, low maintenance and a lifespan of 100+ years, a cheap solution often ends up more expensive. We are deliberately not the cheapest.

What about the permit?

The home is designed to be able to qualify as permit-free: 3 metres high, flat roof and well under 100 m². Under Dutch rules, an extra home for permanent residence usually requires a permit today. A permit-free family home is expected from 1 January 2027, but that is not guaranteed. You apply for a permit yourself; we share the architectural documents free of charge.

What do I arrange and what do you do?

We do production, transport, lifting, placement and connection. You take care of the foundation, utility lines up to 1 metre from the facade, an accessible spot for the crane truck and, if needed, the permit. For the foundation we introduce you to a foundation company.

How quickly will the home be on my plot?

After your order we build the home in 16 weeks in the factory. Placement on your plot usually takes 1 to 2 days. The foundation and connections are already in place by then.

How long does the home last?

A chalet or tiny house lasts 15 to 25 years. An Aventura is built to the quality of traditional timber-frame construction. Count on 100+ years, provided it is maintained in good time and with care.
